In an interview yesterday, Skeffa described the invite to perform at the event as a sign that Malawian music is making strides and that Zambians love his music in particular.

“I have more fans in Zambia and I am appreciated more there than back home. Some Zambian fans even started speculating that I renounced my Malawian citizenship for a Zambian. It might be because of my regular visits to the country and I know they want me to stay in Zambia, but I love Malawi and I am not planning on leaving soon,” said the Chinamuluma Chakuda hit-maker.

The artist left for the country yesterday and returns on Tuesday.

Skeffa is no stranger to the event which happens annually as he also made an appearance at a similar event last year where he shared the stage with Werrason from DRC and other Zambian artists. The artist is expected to share the stage with Zahara and other Zambian artists on tomorrow’s event.
